To say that Adam, our blogger extraordinaire, is excited about the holiday season is an understatement. Hopefully his enthusiasm in this latest blog proves as contagious for you as it did for me.
I know not everyone feels the same nostalgia for the autumn months that I do. After all, my birthday is in October and I grew up in northwest Pennsylvania where I experienced four seasons in their most extreme. But one thing’s for sure, the fiery oranges and reds that scatter the earth will soon ignite the holiday spirit.
With polls reporting that 33% of people have begun their holiday shopping, it seems the excitement surrounding Halloween has unofficially kicked off the ‘holiday season.’
So let’s get down to brass tacks:
In previous weeks we have discussed EdgeRank in association with the Facebook News Feed, common pitfalls to avoid while developing your site and the Google Display Network’s mind-blowing AdWords ads empire. These tools can be invaluable weapons in your company’s arsenal. However, today we are going to focus on the smoking gun: Facebook
WebChiqueMarketing offers a wide range of social media marketing services. The following are merely suggestions:
START EARLY: This may sound redundant as it was hinted in the introduction but use Halloween as a benchmark to initiate your holiday marketing strategies. Buckle up and ride the coat tails of this popular and exciting event all the way through Christmas and beyond.
PHOTO CONTESTS: Show your fans that you are indeed creative and innovative by displaying pictures that align with the prevalent holiday. Don’t hesitate to post pictures of your office costume party or the feast you share with colleagues as an offering of thanks and who can forget the inevitable photo of your dog in a Santa hat and antlers. Invite your fans to participate and post their own pictures. This will create a sense of camaraderie and loyalty to your company.
POLLS & QUESTIONS: There’s no better way to get your fans involved and thinking…YOU… than asking them to answer a few questions and provide their opinions. People love knowing that their thoughts are valued.
WORK THE NEWS FEED: Facebook’s News Feed now clumps posts with similar keywords. Provided our knowledge of the EdgeRank algorithm this is an excellent opportunity to ignite your campaign and watch it spread like wildfire through the Facebook forest (this being a good wildfire of course).
DON’T…I repeat DON’T BE A SCROOGE: Give back to the community in whatever way you can. Team with a local food bank and donate a non-perishable good for every fan you acquire. Link your page with a selected charity and match donations that come from your followers. Or take a page out of rapper 50 Cent’s book (I know, a strange source of self-help): teamed with the World Food Program, 50 will provide a meal to a hungry child for every ‘like’ that his Street King energy drink page receives.
With that I leave you to your own devices. If Curtis Jackson can do it, so can you. As always, please feel free to peruse the pages of WebChiqueMarketing.com and explore the world of possibilities and potential that we may help you achieve.
