At the epicenter of my nerdy life which revolves around internet marketing, resides WordPress, the world’s greatest blogging application and content management system. I love it. Not in the way that most people say in passing that they “love” something, like the first cup of coffee in the morning. I love WordPress in the way that a person would love a hamburger after they were stranded on a desert island for months.

Here are some reasons why you should get to know more about WordPress and what it has to offer your business:

• WordPress is SEO Gold. Google <3’s WordPress. I won’t bore you with the technical details but I will tell you that blogging in WordPress and tagging your blogs equals immediate first page Google rankings. Now you are interested aren’t you?

• WordPress is Free. It is written in PHP and has a community of developers that develop lots of plugins also for free. Also for a low price ($10-$50) you can buy themes that are designed, developed and easy to apply to your site. For anybody that has ever paid for custom website design and development, you know what a deal this is. If you are not techy, you can pay a website developer (like us) to set up the theme for you and add a few custom elements to make it standout.

• WordPress is Easy To Use. I have used a number of content management systems – Joomla, Drupal, TypePad, you name it. WordPress is by far the easiest to use. It is intuitive and with each release it keeps getting better and better. Since it is already better than all of the rest by far, that is saying a lot. WordPress is the ONLY content management system and blogging platform that I have been able to teach clients to use.

I could go on and on, and I probably will in another blog. But for now I will end this by saying that, I know how high the barrier to entry can be for internet marketing for small businesses that need a decent website to get started.
