Alright, well Franklin can sleep through anything, but I am really excited about the release of WordPress 3.0. I am continually touting the use of wordpress as the most search engine friendly, user-friendly content management system available today. In its newest pending release WordPress is expanding some of the key features that will take the CMS functionality to an entirely new level.
Here are some of the features I am eagerly awaiting:
- Custom Post Types will greatly enhance the CMS functionality of wordpress, allowing you to combine post types and taxonomies. This feature will allow you to sort/display posts by type without having to parse your RSS feed by categories.
- Enhanced menu management through Custom Woo Navigation will allow you to manage your menus through the ease of a drag and drop widget management screen. Combine Categories, Pages, and Links in your menu and submenu.
- Ability to choose a username when installing wordpress will give you advanced security from hackers who know the username for everyone will be “admin”.
- Multiple sites can now be managed from one installation.
If you are looking to build a new website with a content management system, I highly recommend you learn more about WordPress and find an internet marketing professional who can help you put the power of WordPress to work for you (*cough*call me).
